Dr. Lisa Mikol-Doering received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1999 from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked at a private practice in Tampa, Florida from 1999-2007. During this time, she became actively involved with Lost Angels (a canine rescue organization) and Croc Encounters (a refuge for injured and abandoned reptiles and birds).

Dr. Mikol-Doering limits her practice to veterinary dentistry and soft tissue surgery and has advanced her training in these areas. She is very passionate about pet dental health and is one of the very few veterinarians in Illinois who performs laparoscopic spay and gastropexy surgery (tacking of the stomach wall to prevent bloat). She also performs other laparoscopic procedures.

The laparoscopic spay surgeries Dr Mikol-Doering performs are ovariohysterectomy (removal of both the ovaries and uterus) and ovariectomy (removal of only the ovaries).

Dr Mikol-Doering is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Dentistry Academy, a group of veterinarians with a special interest in veterinary dentistry to gather regularly to share cases and further their training in dentistry.

She is married to Matthew Doering. They have three daughters, Carolina, Mia and Gabriella. A Chihuahua/Pomeranian Mix named Dunkin D (after her favorite beverage) shares his home with them.
